About Us
The Telugu Cultural Association (TCA) was founded in 1976 and attained non-profit status in 1980 to
- Preserve and promote Telugu language, literature, culture, and heritage
- Work for the unity of all the Telugu people and bring them together under one umbrella
- Collaborate with other non-profit groups/communities for social and charitable causes
Below are few highlights of TCA's Activities:
Telugu Badi
The best gift a parent can give a child is passing on the mother tongue! With that objective in mind, TCA Telugu Badi was established in Sugarland, TX in 2008 and another one in Cypress, TX in 2014. A new branch in Katy started its operations in August 2017. More than 100 students in the age group of 4 to 16 learn Telugu in the above Telugu Badi schools. TCA4Kidz
TCA4Kidz is conceptualized to bring all children together, irrespective of the language they speak, the color of their skin or their origins. It aims at hosting interesting and innovative camps, workshops, and competition for children across Houston. Children can ignite their imagination, give wings to their ideas, and create the impossible. Visit TCA4Kidz
Nela Nela Telugu Vennela
Focuses on literature and provides platform for poets, authors’ & Telugu literature enthusiasts and also publishes quarterly magazine, Madhuravani. For more details, visit: Madhuravani or HoustonSahitilokam - YouTube
Swaramadhuri
Swaramadhuri encourages and coaches’ people, of all age groups in general, children & youngsters in particular, in all forms of music. The singers trained under Swaramadhuri won many prizes in many nationwide singing competitions. Visit: Swaramadhuri or TCA Swaramadhuri Houston - YouTube
Celebrations and Events
TCA celebrates our culture and heritage by hosting Ugadi (Telugu New Year), Sankranthi (Festival of Harvest, in India), Vaggeyakarotsavam (Commemorate great Carnatic poet-composers), Vanabhojanalu(Picnic)/Summer Concert, and Jaanapada Dinotsavam (Celebration of Folklore)/Fall Sports Day every year.

TCA strives to publish annual digital magazine, Telugu Vahini. TCA encourages its members to submit content from past and present.

How you can help/ TCA Helpline
TCA depends on volunteers, members, sponsors, and donors to run and fund all its charitable activities. TCA provides great platform to promote your local businesses to thousands of people in Greater Houston area.
